EMBASSY CHEF CHALLENGE

at International City Food Festival

Embassy Chef Challenge is a tasting event and competition between chefs representing embassies from around the world. The event was originally founded in 2007, and one of my first tasks at Events DC was to expand and improve this beloved celebration of culinary diplomacy. Beyond simply increasing the production capacity of Embassy Chef Challenge, I developed Events DC’s first-ever original festival, International City, inspired by the endless opportunities to tell cultural stories through food. By rebranding the event, building a festival around it, and making a number of other strategic improvements, Embassy Chef Challenge emerged from a three-year hiatus with 39 participating embassies. For the first time in the event’s history, tickets sold out and 4/5 surveyed attendees plan to return next year. Read more about International City Food Festival HERE.
